Women's Running School


Greensboro Running Club, in cooperation with Moses Cone Health Systems, sponsors a running school for women and girls from July to October. This 10-week training program has proved a great success! During the program, walkers and novice runners are coached toward the goal of running the Women’s Only 5K, which is held the first week in October.

The training program focuses on providing participants with the educational information and practical experience they need to complete the race safely and effectively. Participants receive a training manual, a weekly motivational e-mail, and meet as a group once a week to train with coaches of the GRC. Educational clinics on running-related topics, such as choosing the correct shoes, stretching and injury prevention, and nutrition round out this program.
